About IRAX
IRAX supplies industrial piping material from Dublin: pipes, flanges, buttweld and forged fittings, valves, gaskets and fasteners in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, nickel alloys, duplex and super duplex, to ASTM, EN and DIN standards.
Specification first
A line list is read against the standard it is written to before it is priced. Where a grade, a rating or an end preparation does not agree with the rest of the line, we say so with the quotation rather than after the delivery.
Sourced, not just stocked
Catalogue lines carry a price and an availability on the row. Everything else — large diameters, non-standard reducers, special flanges, induction bends, drawing-made pieces — is quoted against the mills and forges we buy from.
Documented on arrival
Material is delivered with the certification the order was placed on, to EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2, with third-party inspection coordinated where the project calls for it.
Ireland, then further
Head office and sales desk in Dublin, serving Ireland and the United Kingdom, shipping into Europe and worldwide on the terms agreed for the order.
Engineering-driven supply
Material supply is not simply about delivering the right product. It also means evaluating whether that product suits the system’s design conditions — pressure and temperature, material grade, and the engineering codes and standards the line is built to.
With an engineering background behind the desk, that evaluation comes with the quotation:
- Material selection — the grade the service calls for, not only the grade written on the enquiry
- Grade equivalency — ASTM to EN and back, where a drawing and a supply market do not use the same designation
- Pressure rating and wall thickness — checked against the design pressure and temperature rather than carried over from the last job
- Technical specification review — the line list read against the specification it is written to, with what does not agree flagged before it is priced
- Supply to project requirements — certification, inspection and documentation set by the project, not by what is convenient
The objective is not to be a material supplier but a supply partner: the right product, the right standard, competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
How an order runs
- Line list or drawing — an MTO, an isometric, a spreadsheet or a photograph of a marked-up P&ID. Whatever exists.
- Technical review — grades, standards, ratings and ends checked against each other and against the service.
- Quotation — priced per line, ex-works, with the availability and the certification level stated on each one.
- Order and inspection — material called off, documentation assembled, third-party inspection arranged if the order requires it.
- Delivery — with the certificates, the packing list and the heat numbers that match them.
